Overview
- Shield the plant from cold on the way home by wrapping it well, as temperatures below roughly 12–15°C can trigger later leaf drop.
- Set it in a bright, draft‑free, moderately warm spot and avoid cold windowsills or breezy entryways.
- Water with room‑temperature water only after the top soil has dried and pour off any excess from the cachepot after about 10 minutes.
- Skip repotting because the poinsettia’s shallow, delicate roots are easily damaged.
- To regain colored bracts next season, provide several weeks of short days with long nights in autumn.
