• Tadej Pogacar broke clear with seven kilometres to go on Friday’s Combloux finish to claim a solo victory by 1 minute 01 second over Jonas Vingegaard.
• He now tops the general classification by 43 seconds over Vingegaard and holds a 1 minute 22 second advantage on former leader Remco Evenepoel.
• Evenepoel, winner of the stage 4 time trial, dropped to fifth on the mountain and surrendered the yellow jersey.
• The stage 6 triumph marked Pogacar’s ninth win of the season and extended his career total to 97, tying him with Arnaud Démare for most active victories.
• Stage 7 on Saturday spans 132 km to Valmeinier 1800 and includes three hors-catégorie climbs with nearly 4 000 m of elevation gain.
