Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Investigating Incident Involving 'S-Town' Podcast Personality

Joseph Tyler Goodson, 32, a central figure in the award-winning 'S-Town' podcast, was shot and killed by police during a standoff in Woodstock, Alabama.
Goodson had barricaded himself inside a residence and allegedly brandished a gun at officers, leading to the fatal shooting.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is investigating the incident and will submit findings to the Bibb County District Attorney's Office.
Goodson had gained notoriety through the 'S-Town' podcast, which chronicled life and scandal in rural Alabama from the perspective of his friend, John B. McLemore.
Prior to his death, Goodson had legal troubles, pleading guilty to burglary and theft charges in 2017 for taking items from McLemore's property after his death.
