Overview

• Tenders were floated on July 16 to appoint consultants for preparing the detailed project report, managing bids, designing layouts and supervising construction
• Consultants must finish surveys, alignment drawings, pavement and drainage designs, utility coordination and tender documents within four months
• The existing Metro Line 3 contractor will first repair and render the 50 km corridor from Maan depot in Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar motorable before full redevelopment
• The upgrade will add medians, parking lanes, bus bays, lay-bys, utility ducts and enhanced pedestrian facilities along the parallel road
• Tree transplanting or removal and selective land acquisition will enable corridor widening and realignment to ease congestion and boost last-mile connectivity
