PMLA Court Summons Two Developers in ₹1,039-Crore Patra Chawl Laundering Case

The judge cited prima facie laundering of FSI proceeds to set a hearing on October 8.

Overview

  • Special judge Satyanarayan R Navander ordered issuance of process on September 20 against Pravin Raut of Prathamesh Developers LLP and Jitendra Mehta of Mehta Developers.
  • The Enforcement Directorate alleges Guruashish Construction/HDIL sold FSI to multiple developers between 2010 and 2014, generating about ₹1,039–1,048 crore while the redevelopment remained incomplete.
  • The court recorded that Prathamesh Developers was used to park, layer and project diverted funds as legitimate income, with Raut managing operations and bank accounts.
  • Investigators say Mehta routed ₹80–90 crore to purchase 125 tenements to secure the mandatory 70% tenant consent and that he received three flats for himself and family without payment.
  • Proceedings will continue under the Code of Criminal Procedure, and the order also recalls a prior 2022 process issued against MP Sanjay Raut over an alleged ₹1.06 crore link.
