Overview
- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif led a PML-N delegation that asked PPP leaders Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari to back a 27th Constitutional Amendment.
 - The Presidency has summoned the Senate for November 4 and the National Assembly for November 5, and government insiders say a draft has been shared with PPP.
 - Bilawal outlined provisions including a Constitutional Court, restoration of executive magistrates, transfers of judges, changes to Article 243 on armed forces command, removal of NFC Article 160(3A) protections, a federal role in education and population planning, and a fix for ECP appointment deadlock.
 - PPP’s Central Executive Committee will meet on November 6 to set the party’s stance, while the government expands consultations to MQM, PML-Q, ANP, JUI-F and other allies.
 - PTI has rejected the plan as harmful to judicial independence and provincial shares, as PML-N figures insist no threat to democracy and say consensus will be sought, with a two‑thirds majority still required in both houses and the Senate arithmetic decisive.
