PMDC Sets MDCAT 2026 for August 16

The move aims to standardize admissions logistics by fixing fees, concentrating administration with provincial universities, creating an overseas Riyadh test centre.

Overview

  • PMDC announced the schedule on Friday and said online registration opens June 22 with regular registration closing July 8 and a late window until July 13.
  • The council fixed fees as Rs9,000 for standard domestic registration and Rs13,000 for late domestic applicants while international candidates face Rs45,000 standard and Rs55,000 late fees.
  • The test will be a 180-question multiple-choice exam with no negative marking and a subject split of 81 Biology, 45 Chemistry, 36 Physics, 9 English and 9 Logical Reasoning questions.
  • Provincial universities were assigned to run the exam — University of Health Sciences Lahore for Punjab, Sukkur IBA for Sindh, Khyber Medical University for K-P, Bolan University for Balochistan, and Shaheed ZAB Medical University for Islamabad, AJK, GB and Riyadh — and candidates may only choose centres in their province or domicile.
  • A professional association has reported the paper will be in English and estimated difficulty at roughly 15% easy, 70% moderate and 15% hard but PMDC has not reissued that detail so candidates should follow official university channels for confirmations and updates.
