PMAY Marks Progress as UP Secures ₹12,031 Crore and J&K Beneficiaries Move Into New Homes

Overview

  • The Uttar Pradesh government has obtained ₹12,031 crore under PMAY (Urban) Mission 2.0 with costs shared 60:40 between the Centre and state.
  • Each eligible urban beneficiary in Uttar Pradesh will receive ₹2.5 lakh in assistance to construct a permanent pucca house.
  • PMAY (Urban) 2.0 mandates geo-tagging and photographic documentation of every home to enable real-time monitoring at each stage of construction.
  • Residents of Bhaderwah block in Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, have begun moving into completed pucca houses under the PMAY–Gramin rural scheme.
  • PMAY–Gramin has been extended through fiscal 2028–29 to deliver an additional two crore rural homes beyond its original target.
