PMAY-Gramin Marks 3.86 Crore Sanctions, 2.92 Crore Homes Built as Gujarat Sets Five-Year Target

The scheme is now extended to 2029 with a goal of 4.95 crore rural houses.

  • As of December 9, 2025, the Centre reports 3.86 crore PMAY-Gramin houses sanctioned and 2.92 crore completed against a cumulative allotment of 4.14 crore.
  • The ministry detailed recent output with 4,71,486 houses sanctioned and 2,42,811 completed as recorded on December 9, 2025.
  • From January 1, 2025 to December 9, 2025, authorities counted 1,24,204 new sanctions and 1,71,719 completions across states and UTs.
  • The Union Cabinet’s August 9, 2024 decision extended PMAY-Gramin through FY2028-29 to add 2 crore rural houses, taking the overall aim to 4.95 crore by 2029.
  • Gujarat set a target of about 5.5 lakh homes over the next five years and directed agencies to identify land and finish procedures, after providing over 2.58 lakh rural homes in the past three years.
