During his visit, PM Modi engaged in activities such as snorkeling and shared photos of the picturesque islands, leading to a peak in interest and searches for Lakshadweep.
PM Modi's visit has drawn attention to the tourism potential of Lakshadweep, with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stating that more visitors will contribute to the prosperity of the islands.
PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹1,150 crore in Agatti, including the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection project and the Low-Temperature Thermal Desalination plant at Kadmat.
The Prime Minister emphasized on creating futuristic infrastructure, better healthcare, fast internet, and protecting the local culture during his visit.
