Overview
- Foundation stones were virtually laid for Eklavya Model Residential Schools at Songpejang in Kangpokpi district, Manipur, and at Kombo in West Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh.
- Saturday’s ceremonies coincided with Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, with the Prime Minister addressing the national observance from Narmada district in Gujarat.
- The Kangpokpi project was presented locally as a 480-seat residential school, with Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari unveiling the plaque and calling it a milestone for the district.

- Under the Union Tribal Affairs Ministry’s EMRS scheme for Classes 6–12, 725 schools have been sanctioned toward a 728 target, with 477 reported as currently functional.
