Overview

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will co-chair the second meeting of the IndiaSaudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during his April 22–23 visit.
  • Discussions will address pressing regional issues, including the IsraelHamas conflict, maritime security threats, and the USIran nuclear talks.
  • The visit is expected to finalize multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), with potential agreements in energy, including green hydrogen, and other strategic sectors.
  • Saudi Arabia remains India's fifth-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching $43 billion in 2023–24, and is a key supplier of crude oil and LPG to India.
