Overview

• National Panchayati Raj Day 2025 marks 32 years since the 73rd Constitutional Amendment, which institutionalized local self-governance in India.
• The main event will take place at Lohna Uttar Gram Panchayat in Madhubani District, Bihar, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi presiding.
• PM Modi will address Panchayati Raj Institutions and Gram Sabhas nationwide and present the Special Category National Panchayat Awards 2025.
• Key infrastructure and welfare projects worth Rs.13,500 crores, including housing, electrification, and road development, will be launched under a Whole-of-Government framework.
• Financial assistance under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin and Urban) and DAY–NRLM will be disbursed to support housing and livelihoods in rural areas.
