PM Modi to Inaugurate Mumbai Metro-3’s Final WorliCuffe Parade Stretch on Sept. 30

End-to-end service will commence only after the metro safety regulator issues final clearance, as MMRC shifts first trains to 5:55 am to better serve current riders.

Overview

  • Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the September 30 inauguration of the WorliCuffe Parade segment at a Mumbai BJP event.
  • The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety completed a preliminary inspection last week, with final reviews and clearances expected before the end of September.
  • Reports note the last section is awaiting fire safety clearance, and MMRC says commercial operations can begin only after CMRS approval.
  • Metro-3 currently runs Aarey–Acharya Atre Chowk (22.46 km) while trial runs continue on the final leg to Cuffe Parade, which adds 11 stations and completes the 33.5-km line.
  • MMRC advanced the first departure to 5:55 am from September 15, a change expected to particularly help airport-bound passengers.
