PM Modi to Inaugurate Final Segment of USBRL Project on April 19

The completion of the Katra-Sangaldan stretch, featuring the iconic Chenab Railway Bridge, will establish direct rail connectivity between New Delhi and Kashmir.

The Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project spans 272 kilometers and includes 36 tunnels and nearly 1,000 bridges, overcoming challenging terrain and seismic risks.
The iconic Chenab Railway Bridge, the world's highest railway arch bridge, is a centerpiece of this project, standing at 359 meters above the riverbed.
Two Vande Bharat Express trains will commence service on April 19, connecting Srinagar and Katra, marking a significant upgrade in rail operations in the region.
The project is expected to boost regional connectivity, tourism, trade, and employment, fostering greater integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the inauguration, emphasizing the project's role in national unity and economic development.
