Overview

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate 103 redeveloped railway stations on May 22, 2025, from Bikaner, Rajasthan, as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
• The redevelopment, completed at a cost of over Rs 1,100 crore, covers 86 districts across 18 states and Union Territories, aiming to enhance passenger experience and regional connectivity.
• Stations like Deshnoke in Rajasthan reflect regional cultural themes, with designs inspired by local architecture, such as temples, while integrating modern amenities like lifts, escalators, and accessible facilities.
• The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, launched in 2021, envisions the modernization of over 1,300 stations nationwide, focusing on cleaner, more accessible, and passenger-friendly infrastructure.
• PM Modi's event will also include the inauguration of other infrastructure projects worth Rs 26,000 crore, including roadways, rail electrification, and solar energy initiatives in Rajasthan.
