PM Modi Sends Ceremonial Chadar to Ajmer Sharif Dargah During Urs Festival

Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over a ceremonial chadar to Union Minister Kiren Rijiju to be offered at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah during the 813th Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.
This marks the 11th consecutive year of Modi’s participation in the tradition, symbolizing respect for India's spiritual heritage and promoting harmony.
The Ajmer Sharif Dargah, one of India’s most revered Sufi shrines, annually attracts millions of devotees during the Urs festival commemorating the saint's death anniversary.
The offering comes as a Rajasthan court considers a petition claiming the dargah is built over a Shiva temple, with the next hearing scheduled for January 24.
The Supreme Court recently restrained lower courts from admitting new cases seeking surveys of religious sites, reflecting ongoing tensions over communal disputes.
