PM Modi Likely to Inaugurate Redeveloped Tripurasundari Temple on September 22

The temple’s overhaul was funded under the PRASHAD scheme with a state contribution.

  • The 524-year-old shrine was redeveloped for over Rs 52 crore under the Union Tourism Ministry’s PRASHAD scheme, with Rs 7 crore from the state.
  • The site, built in 1501 by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya, is recognised as one of the 51 Shakti Peethas.
  • A separate Rs 97.70 crore 51-Shakti Peethas Park at Banduar has been approved, with the foundation laid on July 13 and plans for replicas and visitor amenities four kilometres from the temple.
