The inaugurated RRTS corridor and Metro Phase 4 extension mark significant advancements in Delhi's public transportation network ahead of state elections.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a 13-km section of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), connecting Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar, as part of the ₹12,000 crore infrastructure push.

  • The first stretch of Delhi Metro Phase 4, the Janakpuri West-Krishna Park Extension, was also inaugurated, adding to the city's extensive Metro network of 289 stations.
  • Modi laid the foundation stone for the Rithala-Narela-Kundli Metro corridor and a new Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) complex in Rohini, further enhancing connectivity and healthcare infrastructure.
  • The projects have sparked political debate, with Modi criticizing the AAP government’s performance and opposition parties questioning the timing of the inaugurations ahead of upcoming state elections.
