PM Modi Inaugurates Vantara, India's Largest Wildlife Rescue Centre, in Gujarat
The 3,000-acre facility houses over 1.5 lakh rescued animals from 2,000 species and features state-of-the-art veterinary care.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Vantara, a massive animal rescue, conservation, and rehabilitation centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat, established by Anant Ambani.
- The facility spans 3,000 acres and is home to over 1.5 lakh rescued, endangered, and threatened animals from more than 2,000 species, including Asiatic lions, snow leopards, and one-horned rhinoceroses.
- Vantara features advanced veterinary infrastructure, including MRI, CT scans, ICUs, and specialized departments for wildlife anesthesia, cardiology, nephrology, and more.
- During his visit, PM Modi interacted with various rehabilitated animals, including feeding lion cubs, playing with orangutans, and observing surgeries and medical care for injured wildlife.
- The centre aligns with India's commitment to biodiversity conservation, aiming to set a global benchmark in wildlife rehabilitation and sustainable practices.
