PM Modi Inaugurates Mumbai's First Underground Metro Line
The Prime Minister launched the BKC to Aarey section of Mumbai Metro Line 3 and announced multiple infrastructure projects across Maharashtra.
- The newly inaugurated section of Mumbai Metro Line 3 spans 12.69 kilometers, featuring 10 stations, and is part of a larger 33.5-kilometer line connecting Colaba to SEEPZ.
- PM Modi interacted with students, beneficiaries, and workers during a metro ride from BKC to Santacruz, highlighting the metro's impact on urban mobility.
- In addition to the metro launch, PM Modi laid foundation stones for significant projects, including the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail and the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension.
- The Prime Minister also announced agricultural initiatives, including the disbursement of ₹20,000 crore under the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi to support 9.4 crore farmers.
- The visit underscored the government's focus on infrastructure development in Maharashtra, with projects totaling over ₹56,000 crore aimed at boosting connectivity and economic growth.
