Overview
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is inaugurating the sleeper service at Malda Town, with a virtual flag-off for the Kamakhya–Howrah leg.
- Two rakes will operate inaugural specials on January 17 as train numbers 02076 (Kamakhya–Howrah) and 02075 (Malda Town–Kamakhya) with notified stoppages.
- Regular operations are slated for six days a week, with evening departures and an overnight run of about 14 hours between Howrah and Kamakhya.
- Boarding will be restricted to passengers holding confirmed tickets; only four quotas apply—Ladies, Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizen and Duty Pass—under Railway Board rules including a 400 km minimum chargeable distance.
- Bookings will open via the IRCTC website/apps and PRS counters; Northeast Frontier Railway will operate a 16-coach consist featuring 11 AC 3-tier, four AC 2-tier and one AC First Class.
