PM Modi Flags Off BrahmapurSurat Amrit Bharat Express, Creating New East–West Link

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the train via video from Jharsuguda on September 27, marking its inaugural run.
  • The maiden departure from Brahmapur was scheduled at noon on September 27 with arrival at Udhna/Surat around 9 p.m. the next day after a journey of about 1,708 km in roughly 33 hours.
  • Major halts include Palasa, Srikakulam Road, Vizianagaram, Bobbili, Parvathipuram, Rayagada, Titlagarh, Raipur, Nagpur, Bhusaval and Nandurbar.
  • The train runs with 22 LHB coaches comprising 11 general second class, eight sleeper class, two luggage vans and one pantry car.
  • Regular weekly service is reported to begin October 5 as Train Nos. 19021/19022, though some reports list 09022 for the inaugural operation.
