PM Internship Scheme to Launch Second-Round Registrations Likely in August

The Ministry will soon open registrations for the second phase of the programme that has placed over 360,000 interns during its first year.

Overview

  • The Ministry of Corporate Affairs is preparing to activate the pminternship.mca.gov.in portal for round two, with media reports pointing to an August start though exact dates remain unannounced.
  • Prospective interns must register on the official portal, complete an automated resume and may apply for up to five roles across sectors ranging from IT to FMCG.
  • According to official guidelines, applicants aged 18 to 24 with qualifications from a Class 10 pass to a bachelor’s degree from UGC- or AICTE-recognised institutions are eligible.
  • Each one-year internship carries a monthly stipend of ₹5,000, of which partner companies contribute ₹500 and the government transfers ₹4,500 via Direct Benefit Transfer.
  • There is no guaranteed job offer upon completion, and interns who terminate early will be barred from reapplying for one year.
