Plympton Woman Charged With 12 Counts of Animal Cruelty After 116 Animals Seized
Prosecutors cite veterinary exams showing neglect.
Overview
- Plymouth County prosecutors announced the charges Friday and set a Nov. 3 summons arraignment tied to a Sept. 23 seizure at 34 Lake St.
- Law enforcement and MSPCA personnel removed more than 100 animals during a four-hour operation at the property.
- The MSPCA said 99 of the seized animals were farm birds, with additional dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets and goats taken from the site.
- Investigators reported inadequate shelter, a lack of available food or water, dead livestock near live animals, and scattered bones and skulls believed to be from goats.
- Most animals were transported to MSPCA-Angell’s Nevins Farm, while dogs and some rabbits went to the Cape Cod Adoption Center; the accused disputes neglect and links the case to a family dispute.
