PLI Scheme Hits ₹21,534 Crore Payout as Government Outlines Five-Year Growth Plan

Overview

  • The scheme has disbursed ₹21,534 crore in incentives across 12 sectors and attracted ₹1.76 lakh crore in investments as of March 2025.
  • It has generated production and sales worth over ₹16.5 lakh crore and created more than 12 lakh direct and indirect jobs.
  • The pharmaceuticals sector leads with ₹2.66 lakh crore in cumulative sales and 83.7% domestic value addition supported by ₹15,102 crore in R&D.
  • Bulk drugs segment has turned India into a net exporter with ₹2,280 crore in shipments while MMF textile exports reached $6 billion in 2024–25.
  • In a review meeting, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal urged the creation of quality skilled manpower and resolution of infrastructure bottlenecks as part of a new five-year roadmap.
