PlayStation Portal Adds Cloud Streaming for Owned PS5 Games in Major Update

Access requires PS Plus Premium, with a broad launch library supported by a redesigned interface.

Overview

  • Sony is rolling out Cloud Streaming on PlayStation Portal today at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET for PS Plus Premium members in supported regions.
  • Portal owners can now stream select digital PS5 games from their own library in addition to compatible titles from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, Classics Catalog, and free-to-play offerings.
  • Sony’s published list shows roughly 2,800 supported PS5 store titles at launch, with additional catalog and classics entries available to Premium subscribers.
  • The update introduces a three-tab home screen for Remote Play, Cloud Streaming, and Search, plus a tool to quickly find streamable games.
  • New features include 3D Audio support (with wired or PlayStation Link devices), passcode lock, a network status screen, in-game purchases during cloud streams, accessibility options, and multiplayer invites; streaming works even if the home PS5 is powered off but availability and quality depend on region and internet connection.
