Overview
- Sony revealed the October PS Plus Essential monthly games on Wednesday and the lineup will be claimable from Tuesday, Oct. 6 through Monday, Nov. 2.
- The three free titles are F1 25 (PS5), Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PS5) and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 (PS5, PS4), with EDF: World Brothers 2 the only native PS4 entry.
- Subscribers can also pick up limited‑time bonus packs and avatars tied to early October and Halloween promotions, including a Call of Duty Horror Bundle on Oct. 1, a Hunt starter pack on Oct. 6, an Overwatch Dragur Reinhardt pack on Oct. 7, and Spider‑Man: Brand New Day avatars starting Oct. 6.
- Players who haven’t already added September’s PS Plus games should do so before Oct. 5 because monthly freebies remain playable only while the subscriber’s membership is active.
- The slate pairs a recent AAA racer with niche multiplayer and co‑op choices to reach different player groups and could boost multiplayer populations for Crytek’s Hunt while giving PS4 owners a last‑gen option.
