Overview

  • The open beta for Prologue: Go Wayback is now available on Steam and the Epic Games Store and will run until the game enters early access.
  • Each session generates a unique 8 × 8 km map via machine-learning models trained on vetted open-source data to avoid copyrighted material.
  • Survival challenges include sudden weather extremes, hunger, thirst and body-temperature management with only a paper map and compass for navigation.
  • Community feedback on Discord will guide the addition of new tools such as a map editor and save-game function during the beta.
  • Prologue acts as a technical testbed for Project Artemis, PlayerUnknown Productions' long-term platform for large-scale, ML-assisted world building.
