PlatinumGames Faces Major Talent Exodus as Five Key Directors Depart

High-profile developers behind Bayonetta 3, Astral Chain, and Metal Gear Rising leave PlatinumGames, with some joining new ventures like Clovers.

Hideki Kamiya, former vice president of PlatinumGames, confirmed the departure of five prominent game directors in a YouTube video.
The departing developers include Yusuke Miyata (Bayonetta 3), Abebe Tinari (Bayonetta Origins), Takahisa Taura (Astral Chain), Kenji Saito (Metal Gear Rising), and Masaki Yamanaka (Anarchy Reigns and Resident Evil character design).
Abebe Tinari has joined Housemarque as a lead designer, while the future plans of the other directors remain unclear.
Kamiya has founded a new Capcom-backed studio, Clovers, which includes several former PlatinumGames staff and is working on a sequel to Okami.
PlatinumGames is moving forward with its collaboration on Ninja Gaiden 4 alongside Team Ninja, despite the recent wave of departures.
