Renfe says the fault is cleared with services now restoring frequency gradually.

Overview

  • Renfe and Adif cited programmed works between Ciudad Real and Brazatortas, near Puertollano, as the source of the disruption.
  • Delays on Saturday grew from about 50 minutes in the morning to more than two and a half hours for some passengers.
  • A total of 32 long- and medium-distance high-speed trains on the southern corridor were affected across operators including Renfe, Iryo and Ouigo.
  • Renfe announced after about an hour that the incident was resolved and warned of a gradual return to normal timetables.
  • Stations such as Sevilla-Santa Justa saw heavy crowds, and ABC reported Adif removed its 'Disculpen las mejoras' poster at the site.
