Planned Water Cuts Hit Lima and Buenos Aires Province as Mendoza Schedules Thursday Outage

Operators say the time-limited shutdowns support preventive upgrades to improve service reliability.

Overview

  • In Lima on Tuesday, Oct. 7, Sedapal is executing scheduled interruptions for reservoir cleaning and a gate-valve installation across districts including San Juan de Lurigancho, San Isidro, Pachacamac and Santa Anita on published timetables.
  • Sedapal said tanker trucks are supplying priority zones and urged residents to consult official channels and manage stored water during the outages.
  • In La Plata’s Villa Elvira, ABSA is performing pipe tie-ins at the intersection of calles 5 and 76, temporarily affecting service within the area bounded by avenidas 1–7 and calles 72–80.
  • ABSA said the work is part of replacing old mains with larger-diameter PEAD pipes and cautioned that service will return slowly once the tasks conclude.
  • In Mendoza, AYSAM announced a Thursday, Oct. 9 outage in Guaymallén from 08:00 to 20:00 for a network connection covering the area from Pedro del Castillo to Mendoza and from Higuerita to Los Huarpes, with conservation guidance in place.
