• Mar Monte permanently closed its South San Francisco, San Mateo, Gilroy, Westside/Santa Cruz and Madera clinics on July 25 after losing Medicaid reimbursement.
• The federal spending law signed July 2 bars Medicaid payments to any medical provider that also offers abortion services.
• In the week since stopping Medicaid billing, Mar Monte treated 5,000 patients and absorbed approximately $1.7 million in unreimbursed care costs.
