Plane Crashes Into California Warehouse, Killing 2 and Injuring 18

A small aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff near Fullerton Municipal Airport, striking a furniture factory and causing a fire.

The single-engine Van's RV-10 crashed into Michael Nicholas Designs, a furniture manufacturing facility, less than two minutes after takeoff from Fullerton Municipal Airport.
Two people were killed, though it is unclear if they were on the plane or inside the building, while 18 others sustained injuries ranging from minor to severe.
The crash caused a fire that was extinguished by emergency responders; over 100 people were evacuated from the building and surrounding businesses.
The pilot had requested an emergency landing after takeoff but crashed approximately 1,000 feet short of the runway during a 180-degree turn back to the airport.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the incident, with a preliminary report expected within two weeks.
