Plaintiffs’ Lawyers Move to Exit Diddy–DruskiOdell Beckham Jr. Assault Case

The filing comes after a judge questioned the factual basis for naming Druski, prompting plaintiffs to seek a short stay to retain new counsel.

Overview

  • Attorneys Shawn R. Perez and Ariel Mitchell asked to withdraw from representing Ashley Parham and co-plaintiffs, citing irreconcilable differences and an unworkable attorney–client relationship.
  • They informed the clients of their decision and requested a brief pause in proceedings so new counsel can be retained without prejudicing the case.
  • In August, U.S. District Judge Rita F. Lin said there appeared to be no reasonable factual basis to continue alleging Druski’s participation and warned the plaintiffs’ lawyers about possible sanctions.
  • Druski has denied involvement and filed phone and banking records indicating he was in Atlanta on the date of the alleged 2018 assault in Orinda, California; Odell Beckham Jr. and Sean Combs have also denied the claims.
  • Separately, Combs is reported to be pursuing a $100 million defamation suit against lead attorney Ariel Mitchell and Newsmax over coverage and statements about the allegations.
