Pizza Hut UK Shuts 68 Dine-In Restaurants as Yum! Rescues 64 in Pre-Pack

Yum! Brands moved to buy back part of the estate after franchisee DC London Pie entered administration following weeks of financial strain.

Overview

  • FTI Consulting was appointed on 20 October as administrator to DC London Pie, the operator of Pizza Hut’s UK dine-in estate.
  • The restructuring will close 68 restaurants and 11 delivery sites, with around 1,210 jobs at risk as administrators begin redundancy processes.
  • Yum! Brands has acquired 64 dine-in locations, with approximately 1,277 employees transferring to a new Yum! equity business under TUPE.
  • Pizza Hut takeaway and independently run delivery branches are unaffected because they are operated through separate businesses.
  • Administrators and the company have begun publishing full closure lists, capping a year of repeated rescues following a prior takeover and an HMRC winding‑up petition against the operator.
