Overview

• Piyush Goyal will lead a two-day visit to the UAE to co-chair the 13th High Level Task Force on Investments with ADIA managing director Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
• He will review progress on the CEPA, the Double Taxation Treaty, and matters between the two central banks, according to India’s Commerce Ministry.
• The agenda includes exploring investment opportunities in priority sectors such as maritime and space, alongside broader trade facilitation steps.
• Goyal will co-chair a UAE-India Business Council roundtable with UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi and meet CEOs from both countries.
• He is expected to meet senior UAE officials including National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ADDED chair Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, and IHC managing director Syed Basar Shueb, as CEPA-linked trade reached about USD 83.7 billion in FY 2023–24 with a stated USD 100 billion target by 2030.
