Pittsburgh International Airport Opens Online Lost-and-Found Auction With 1,000+ Items

Bidding closes Oct. 27 at 5 p.m. under a soft-close format.

Overview

  • The annual sale is live online now, featuring jewelry, electronics and other unclaimed items alongside used airport equipment and decommissioned vehicles.
  • Highlights include a Cartier women’s watch, a Louis Vuitton hat, iPads, iPhones, Apple Watches and a PlayStation 4, with thousands of listings available to browse.
  • Public previews run Oct. 24 from 1–5 p.m. at the Joe R. Pyle warehouse in Washington, Pa., and for heavy equipment at the airport’s Heavy Equipment Building on Cargo Road.
  • Abandoned personal vehicles are not included this year, though snowplows, pickup trucks and other retired airport units are up for bid.
  • All bidding is online-only with all sales final; a 15% buyer’s premium applies, payment is accepted by cash, check or credit, and winning bidders can pick up items Oct. 29 or arrange shipping at their expense.
