Pistons Make Monty Williams Highest-Paid Coach in NBA History With Record Deal

The Detroit Pistons have hired former Phoenix Suns coach Monty Williams as their new head coach on a six-year, $78.5 million contract.
The deal could be worth up to $100 million if certain incentives are met and includes team options for two additional years.
Williams was named the NBA's Coach of the Year this past season but was fired by the Suns after a disappointing playoff run.
Williams replaces former Pistons coach Dwane Casey, who stepped down following the season to take a front-office role.
Williams will be tasked with turning around a Pistons team coming off the worst record in the NBA.
