Pilot Killed and Passenger Injured in Northern NSW Plane Crash

A light plane crashed near Yamba, NSW, leaving one dead and another hospitalized with serious injuries as investigations continue.

The crash occurred at Palmers Island, approximately 8km west of Yamba, in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales.
The pilot, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene and has not yet been formally identified.
The passenger, a man in his 30s, sustained head, spinal, and arm injuries and was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in serious but stable condition.
Emergency services, including police, paramedics, firefighters, and the State Emergency Service, responded to the crash site at McIntyres Airfield.
Police have established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the cause of the crash, urging the public to avoid the area.
