Pilgrims Arrive as Security Bolstered for Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela in Kashmir

  • DGP Nalin Prabhat and Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo conducted a final security review at the Tullamulla shrine today.
  • On June 1, 60 J&K SRTC buses carrying around 2,500 pilgrims were flagged off from Jammu to Ganderbal.
  • J&K Police in coordination with the CRPF and other forces have established strong access control, crowd management and logistical support across five Ragnya Devi shrines.
  • District administrations and the Relief Organization have arranged accommodation, langar kitchens and medical and sanitation services for arriving devotees.
  • Despite a lower turnout than last year following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, thousands of Kashmiri Pandit devotees continue to flock to the sacred festival.
