Overview
- The 52nd Peregrinación Juvenil left the Santuario de San Cayetano in Liniers with an official 10:00 a.m. departure on Saturday and hundreds of thousands to over a million people were reported along the roughly 60 km route.
- Persistent rain and storm alerts marked the start of the march, forcing organizers to protect the Imagen Peregrina and activate contingency measures as pilgrims continued walking.
- Authorities and organizers deployed a broad support network that includes about 6,000 volunteers, more than 60 health posts, mobile hospitals, ambulances, helicopters and drones coordinated from a COE at the Universidad Nacional de Luján.
- Transport and water reinforcements were activated with Trenes Argentinos adding multiple extra services on the Moreno–Luján corridor and AySA placing 12 cistern trucks along the route to supply potable water.
- Religious programming remains scheduled with the archdiocesan Mass on Saturday night and the central Mass at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday to be presided over by Archbishop Jorge García Cuerva, and officials say the turnout offers an early gauge of public interest ahead of the pope's visit.
