Pickett Fire Near Calistoga Triggers Evacuations as Reported Size Jumps to 1,200 Acres

Overview

  • Mandatory orders cover zones E114 and E120, with warnings for E115, E121 and E122, according to Napa County officials.
  • Cal Fire reported the blaze at roughly 60 acres by 4:30 p.m. and later at 1,200 acres by 5:35 p.m., with zero containment reported earlier.
  • More than 215 personnel and a large air fleet are engaged, including engines, hand crews, bulldozers, helicopters and air tankers.
  • Several wineries and vineyards near the hills north and east of Calistoga were under evacuation orders as smoke spread across the region and into Santa Rosa.
