Pickett Fire Holds Near 6,800 Acres in Napa County as Containment Reaches 13%

Officials declared a local emergency to speed resources to threatened communities.

Overview

  • Cal Fire reported 6,803 acres burned Monday with containment at 13% after only modest overnight growth.
  • More than 2,000 personnel are assigned, including 10 helicopters, 205 engines, 67 dozers, 23 water tenders and 53 crews focused on reinforcing lines and structure protection.
  • Evacuation orders and warnings remain in place around Aetna Springs and Pope Valley, and an air-quality advisory for Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties is in effect through Monday.
  • Napa County issued a separate local health emergency Monday over hazardous wildfire debris, and damage assessment teams were deployed to check structures.
  • No injuries or destroyed homes have been confirmed, the fire is burning in steep terrain within the 2020 Glass Fire footprint, and the cause remains under investigation.
