Photographer Shares 2015 Epstein Images, Alleges Intimidation to Suppress Shoot

The release coincides with a Justice Department review of millions of Epstein records under a transparency mandate.

Overview

  • Christopher Anderson says he photographed Jeffrey Epstein in 2015 for a New York Magazine piece by Michael Wolff and was later offered $20,000 by Epstein to own the images after publication.
  • According to Anderson, Epstein pulled out of the story, sent a bodyguard named Merwin to intimidate him at his studio, and pressured the magazine, which then killed the article.
  • Anderson says the bodyguard collected a hard drive of images, but he later found copies on an old backup and has now posted several photos from the shoot.
  • One image shows a printed 2011 email addressed to Prince Andrew’s then–private secretary Amanda Thirsk about money owed to Sarah Ferguson’s former assistant; Newsweek notes the email’s authenticity has not been independently verified.
  • Other desk items in the photos include framed pictures of prominent figures, and the posts surface as the DOJ reports it still must review more than 2 million Epstein-related documents with hundreds of staff working on phased releases.
