PhonePe Launches PulsePro to Sell Hyperlocal Market Intelligence
The company is commercialising aggregated, anonymised transaction data to give firms near-real-time local signals and to build a new revenue line before a planned IPO.
Overview
- PulsePro, which launched Thursday, July 30, provides three enterprise modules—Category & Growth, Retail Network and Hyperlocal—that deliver district- and postal-code level insights from PhonePe’s transaction network.
- PhonePe says the product uses aggregated and anonymised data from its claimed 700 million users and 50 million merchants with 99% postal-code coverage and that outputs are audited for privacy and follow India’s DPDP law.
- The service is aimed at large FMCG, retail and D2C firms and is sold through customised engagements such as one-off projects, subscriptions or retainers rather than a single off-the-shelf price.
- PhonePe positions PulsePro as a potential new revenue vertical to diversify beyond payments before an eventual public listing but the launch has not yet produced reported large signed deals or verified revenue impact.
- Analysts note transaction-based insight tells businesses what and where spending is changing but cannot explain why consumers act a certain way so the strongest results will come when PulsePro’s data is paired with customer research; the product builds on PhonePe Pulse, the free open-data platform the company launched in 2021.
