Phoenix Mercury Appoints Kristi Toliver as Associate Head Coach

Former WNBA Champion and NBA Assistant Joins New Head Coach Nate Tibbetts' Staff

Kristi Toliver, a veteran WNBA guard and former NBA assistant, has been named associate head coach of the Phoenix Mercury.
Toliver, who won championships with the Los Angeles Sparks (2016) and Washington Mystics (2019), has not officially announced her retirement from playing.
She previously served as an NBA assistant during the WNBA's offseason, with the Washington Wizards from 2018 to 2020 and the Dallas Mavericks from 2021 to 2023.
Toliver joins the staff of new head coach Nate Tibbetts, who was hired in October after a long career as an NBA assistant coach.
The Mercury finished last in the WNBA and missed the playoffs this past season, and are in the draft lottery with the second-best chance at the No. 1 pick.
