Overview

  • Phillips became just the second USD player to reach 300 rushing yards and the first in the program’s Division I FCS era, finishing with 301 on 35 carries and the 13-yard overtime winner.
  • Northern Colorado forced overtime when Jacob Willig converted an 18-yard field goal with three seconds left.
  • Aidan Bouman capped a 14-play, 99-yard drive with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Zach Witte to put the Coyotes up 17-6 late in the game.
  • UNC quarterback Eric Gibson Jr. completed 28 of 39 passes for 336 yards and a touchdown as the Bears outgained USD 427-406 overall.
  • The victory marked USD’s ninth straight win in the DakotaDome and moved both teams to 1-2, securing Johansen’s first career victory.
