Overview
- Signify unveiled the Hue Play Screen Sync camera and the Play HDMI Sync Box 4K at IFA 2026, and both devices are listed for sale on Philips Hue’s store and major retailers.
- The Play Screen Sync uses a fisheye camera to capture TV colors from any source and starts at about $119, while the slimmer single-input Play HDMI Sync Box 4K starts at about $149.
- Both new units support a bridgeless Bluetooth mode that can sync a single gradient light strip without a Hue Bridge, with the option to expand to up to ten lights later by adding a Hue Bridge or Bridge Pro.
- Philips Hue announced app and cloud upgrades—Backup & Restore for saved lights, scenes, and automations, plus Custom AI Behaviors that create automations from natural-language prompts—which are due to roll out beginning fall 2026 and will have some features gated to Bridge Pro initially.
- The company also expanded its lighting line with larger gradient strips for TVs up to 100 inches, new decorative and outdoor fixtures, and a Nanoleaf Wall Light Module that lets compatible Nanoleaf Shapes join Hue scenes and automations.
