PhD Student Accused of Drugging and Raping 10 Women Over Four Years

Zhenhao Zou, a 27-year-old Chinese national and UCL PhD student, is on trial for 35 charges, including 11 counts of rape, voyeurism, and drug possession with intent to supply.
Prosecutors claim Zou used drugs and alcohol to incapacitate 10 women between 2019 and 2023 before sexually assaulting them, often recording the incidents.
Police seized videos from Zou's devices, showing assaults on unconscious women, with only two of the 10 victims identified so far.
Zou denies all charges, asserting that the sexual encounters were consensual and some recordings involved role play.
The trial, expected to last several weeks, is being held at London Crown Court, where jurors will review graphic evidence, including video footage and testimony from victims.
